PFC Joseph Scott Pemberton Unaware That Laude Was Transgender

The suspect in the Filipino transgender Jeffrey “Jennifer” Laude’s apparently had an intense anger towards the victim, revealed by the police investigator to Senate Committee on Foreign Relations on Wednesday.

In a recent media report, authorities believe that the victim may have had anal sex based on evidence gathered at the scene of the crime.

The Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) gathered hair, condoms, blood, and urine sample from the crime scene. The local authorities, however, said they could not conclude that the semen samples belonged to Pemberton.

The Senate foreign relations committee started the initial investigation in Olongapo City, with the victim’s transgender friend, Mark Clarence “Barbie” Gelviro, stating the events on the horrific Saturday night.

Gelviro’s face concealed with a purple wrap, Gelviro said Pemberton was the last person seen with Laude before the victim was found dead in the toilet of a motel room.

In Gelviro’s statement, he said:

“Ang alam po ni Pemberton kami ay mga totoong babae(Pemberton thought we were real women).”

US Marine Private First Class Joseph Scott Pemberton is facing a complaint for the brutal killing of Laude before the Olongapo City Prosecutor’s Office. He is currently detained at a facility in Camp Aguinaldo but remains under the custody of US authorities.

Laude was discovered dead on October 11 in an Olongapo City motel. The victim was brutally beaten up before being drowned in a toilet bowl.

Barbie, star witness has told police that Laude was last seen alive in the company of Pemberton.

Meanwhile, Olongapo City criminal laboratory chief Superintendent Theresa Ann Cid said the victim suffered bruises in some parts of the body.

The medico-legal officer said that the victim also suffered from hematoma in the neck and head.
