The Titanic star, Leonardo DiCaprio, has been appointed as a United Nations representative on climate change.
United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon announced Tuesday that actor Leonardo DiCaprio has been appointed as the newest UN Messenger for Peace.
DiCaprio will advocate climate changes issues on behalf of the organization.
DiCaprio, 39, most recently starred in “The Wolf of Wall Street.”
The UN’s Messenger for Peace moniker is meant to:
“distinguished individuals, carefully selected from the fields of art, music, literature and sports, who have agreed to help focus worldwide attention on the work of the United Nations.”
Past United Nations representative on climate change include George Clooney and Edward Norton.
