A North Carolina teenager celebrated her arrest for selling prescription drugs with the message “F*ck what you heard…my mugshot’s cute.” That teenager, Alysa Bathrick, has now had her image become a viral sensation despite her impending legal troubles.
“Surrendered myself at 7 a.m., got released at 11:30 a.m. F&*# what you heard. And my mugshot’s cute #ftp,” Bathrick tweeted on December 1 regarding her November arrest for illegal possession of Xanax pills.
Almost instantly the Twitterverse elevated Bathrick to goddess status. Next came the marriage proposals, all of which were retweeted by the 18-year-old pill popper. She’s even got modeling agents looking to turn her 15 minutes of fame into an hour with a Playboy shoot.
A little dirt digging uncovered that this wasn’t Bathrick’s first run-in with the law. She was arrested for simple assault last year.
So if you happen to be one of Bathricks suitors, make sure you’ve got plenty of bars and enough bail money to keep her around.
According to the Clifford Law Group in North Carolina, selling Xanax is considered a “Schedule IV” drug. The Clifford Law Group says, “The penalties for creating or selling prescription drugs are much steeper than simple possession.” Selling a Schedule IV drug is considered a Class H felony. If convicted, Bathrick could face between 4 to 25 months in the clink.
